Descriptions of Games Published in Panzerschreck #1 & #2
Reichstag: The Fall of Berlin was published in issue number 1 of Panzerschreck. It is a solitaire game, where the gamer plays the Russians and the game system handles the German defense. The object of the game is to "fly the flag" over the Reichstag as quickly as possible, with as few casualties as possible. While the defenders are weak (a mixtue of veteran, Volkssturm, and Hitlerjugend units) there is still some fight left in the waiting German forces. To be successful, you will need to balance cautious and aggressive play, depending
on the changing game situation. Components of Reichstag include 8.5 x 11 map, 72 counters, 22 cards, and rules. Components must be cut and mounted prior to play. The game lasts up to ten turns, and is playable in 20 to 25 minutes.
Nuremberg: Trial of the Century was published in issue number 2. It is a simple, solitaire, abstract game loosely based on the Nuremberg War Crimes Trial that took place at the close of World War II. The gamer takes the role of allied prosecutors in the trial of leading Nazi defendants. The object of the game is to get as many
convictions as possible, while avoiding the appearance of a "show trial". There were political, East-West undertones present at the judicial proceedings, and you are given the task of offering the world "justice" instead of "vengeance" while trying to keep your Russian co-prosecutors happy with the trial's progress. You must tactically arrange your arguments before the court as you seek convictions against Goring, Hess, Speer, and other famous German leaders. Nuremberg comes with an 8.5 x 11 board, counters, Country cards, Defendant cards, Event cards, Time Record card, and rules. The game may be played in less than 30 minutes.
